We have been using chemical free cleaning products for several years. Most people agree that the less chemicals we expose ourselves to, the better.
This is my super simple, inexpensive recipe for toxin free hand soap. We even recycle our old foaming hand soap containers. I keep a bottle at each sink.
You will need:
Empty foaming hand soap dispenser (I just reuse old ones that I got on sale)
2 tbsp castile soap
2 tbsp witch hazel
10-15 drops of each of your favorite essential oils
Drizzle of olive oil (not pictured – oops)
Instructions:
- Rinse your foaming hand soap bottle.
- Add two tbsp castile soap.
- Put in two tbsp of witch hazel.
- Drip in about 5 drops each of whatever essential oils you are using.
- Drizzle a tiny amount of olive oil on top of the mixture.
- Stir the mixture (I just shake my bottles a little)
- Fill with rest of the bottle with water (can use distilled if you like) , allowing enough head space to avoid spillage when you add the pump top.
- Shake and use.
So easy!
